I picked it off with a fingernail as much as possible and then used bug/tar remover. Takes forever and my finger hurt.

Clay bar made my car smooth, even after a slide over some caked on old sap and bird crap.

I just washed the car a few times that week with dawn, and then with the meguiars soft gel wash, clay bar, and it was smooth like a baby's bum.

I gotta do it again sometime after I replace the CV's and get it ready for sale.

I got some Kleen Klear the other day and it seems to work well. Also you can try scraping it off.

As was said before, Goo Gone from Home Depot. Use a terri towel and rub the area for a while to remove the sap. Believe me, I have pine trees lining my whole driveway. Damn neighbors. Also, keeping your car waxed helps make removing the sap easier too.

another vote for googone.

but it could take a while. what I would do is wet a cotton cloth with googone then put that over the sap and let it sit for a few minutes. the come back later and wipe it off.

don't do it in direct sunlight or if the surface is hot to the touch
