ive been reading this photography book for a while...i know what most of the terms and functions actually do. but the problem knowing when to apply them when taking pics

assymetry. (sp). it makes your pictures and designs look more interesting and better. centering is for amateurs and portraits.

thanks for all the tips and compliments. i'll stop by a book store tomorrow and get something. any recommendations? i now have a new camera which has a bunch of things i can change so i need to know what it all does. most of the pictures i posted were taken with a camera i could change just the white balance on (and i never even did that).
