just got a job offer for when i get out of the army for a contract in HI. need to know exactly how comfortable 85k a year is on the big island. help me out fools

COL is higher than cali, simply for the fact that almost everything has to be shipped to the island. Nonetheless, 85k will definently keep you happy.

yeah... just did a salary comparison between there and here in the DC metro area. looks like 85k a year is about the same as 78k here in DC.. i think i'm sold :bigok:

haha dude yea you shouldnt even have to think of it...85k is good anywhere..what job are you going to be doing anyway? if i may ask thats a nice salary..hopefully i can do the same when i'm done with schoool...if i get hired by the right firm...125k a year.

i'm a satellite ground system engineer... basically i'll be doing testing on new tactical satellite terminals... on the beach... in hawaii :bigok:
