Default What Would It Cost for A Quality Repaint?

For a different color?

For the same color?

A co-worker of mine has a 1947 Plymouth and knows what he's talking about apparently. He says $6000 for a really good repaint with a different color and $3000 for the same color.

Sound about right?

Provided it's the same color, you don't need any body work, and you get a really good deal.

When I was in school, I painted the Dean's almost brand new Millenia, he was quoted $2500 to get half the car painted at the dealership. It took me about 5-6 hours from prep to finish (not including wetsanding and buffing a few spots) and it cost about $300 in supplies.

There are couple of car shines out there that can make a car looks like new again. takes out little scratches and water marks, scratches / swirls. Done wonders on my car's roof. It used to be totally different color and all faded, now its the best. Be ready to do some buffing though. If you can rent / get to a buffer machine you are all set
