About the C&D test, I really wonder what else they were testing for. They really don't seem like drag cars and it doesn't seem that 1/4 mi times were the deciding factors to placement....but I guess I should just check out the magazine.

Nah. They just offered the companies who produced their cars if they wanted to use their own driver or if they wanted Car & Driver's editors to run the performance results.

Rich, watch out for telephone poles, apparently the FM platform doesn't like them.

Michael Lappich, technical director for C&D, was killed in a car crash when he hit a telephone pole in C&D's longterm Nissan 350Z.
