stuff my sister brings home from bible school.
despite my mom's wishes, my stepdad decided that my little sister should go to bible school to get her "exposed to the religion." Me and my mom are both athiest, and she wants to raise her without religion, and then let her study different religions when she's old enough to understand them and decide for herself. but now she's going to bible school. it didn't bother me at first, since i went to bible school when i was a kid and i had a good time. but then i read some of the stuff she brings home.
For example:
Only one that's true
"This guessing game will keep your preschoolers busy, as well as reinforce today's Bible story! Just round up three child-sized cups and a small piece of candy. Turn the cups upside down, and place the candy under one cup. Switch the cups around, then line them up and let your child guess where the candy is. Play a few rounds, then point out that only one cup was "right"- the others were empty. Remind your child that we believe in the one true God - all other Gods are empty and fake. "
they're all pretty similar. i'm not sure what i was expecting, but this really strikes me as subliminal messaging or something along those lines. all these kids are in kindergarden thourgh the second grade (and back then i didn't even understand what the pledge of allegiance meant).
sorry, i just needed to vent a little. no hating please.

I think some of those other denominations are a lot like that and do soem strange stuff. I am Catholic and part of religion class we had we learned about judeism as well as other religions. And we definetly didn't do stuff like that :dunno:
