Galaxy Tab....
here in germany, i have an iphone 3gs, but when i go back to the states, i'm wanting something w/ a slightly bigger screen for occasional web browsing. i've always wanted an ipad, but that's a little bigger than what i want to carry all the time....i need something that will fit in my cargo pocket of my uniform. it will also replace my phone, so i'm looking at the wifi/3g models. not sure if i'll be getting service via at&t or t-mobile.
guy i work with has one of the older p1000's that he uses for just this purpose, so i went looking at those & saw the newer p7300's that have a bigger screen. the p7500 is out of the question, cause then we are getting into the ipad size....which is too big for what i'm wanting.
so....thoughts/suggestions on p1000 vs p7300??? what about at&t vs t-mobile??? i had at&t for years before leaving the country & over here i have t-mobile germany (which is the parent company of t-mobile us) & i couldn't be happier with them, but not sure how they compare to at&t in the states since i've been gone for awhile :/

Wouldn't the p7300 be a little large also? (8.9")
If i had to choose i would go with the p7300 galaxy tab.
P7300 is rocking a dual core processor plus 3.0 honeycomb.
p1000 is operating 2.3 Gingerbread ( i think) with an older processor.
As far the carriers in the states,it's going to depend on where you live!
T-mobile has better pricing while Att is going to have better coverage.

yeah not sure if the 7300 would be too big......:-/
but i do like that display & faster processor. guess i need to see if i can get my hands on one at one of the off-post european electronics stores to see just how big it is.
i did notice from the specs pages on samsung's website that it is considerably thinner
can ya give me a ballpark on what the going rate for voice/data plans are these days?

I'm 99% sure my work issued one has a phone number associated with it.
Sprint has the best rates around at $100 for unlimited everything (text, minutes, and data). You can shave some dollars with the other guys (Verizon, AT&T), but we're talking $9 less for limited texts, minutes, and data.

well my research has led me to the conclusion that it's gonna be the new galaxy tab 7.0 plus w/ 4g thru t-mobile. i talked to their sales dept & i can order it from them for the full retail price ($499) and then request the unlock code to unlock it for use with any provider while i'm still here in germany (& when i travel in the future). the 7.0 plus has a thinner frame than the regular 7.0, has the newer display & also has the dual-core processor so pretty much everything i'd get in the 7300 8.9" i wanted but is just a bit too big for what i'm wanting
went browsing the android app market & see that 99.9% of the apps i currently use are avail in android
