I've been told that as well...at some point in your first few years of driving, you WILL get into an accident. Of course there are exceptions, but for the most part, I've seen life follow this trend.

My car was totalled by a EXpedition driven by a rabid 5 ft PTA mom hopped up on mac n cheese and hot dog leftovers. but because i tapped the car in front of me (hydroplaned and bumped her then SpeedyMama hit me) i got a ticket too.

ive never been in an accident that was my fault. knock on wood.
however ive been in my share of accidents all my life.
-someone reared my mom's nova
-someone ran a red and hit moms corolla
-someone ran a stop sign, hit us, then we hit a house
-someone ran a stop sign and my friends rav4 t-boned them
-someone rear ended me and caused $6k in repairs
-someone rear-ended me and cracked the bumper
-got hit by a dump truck

I've been in 2. One wasn't my fault, and the second was completely my fault, but didn't involve anyone else.
If you stay safe and don't drive like a moron, you should have too much to worry about.
