Don't recall, I think it was greater than typical plinking distance, but not necessarily long range, so probably 50 - 100 yds.

 

Isn't that only if you miss? I though a load to the chest would slow down enough to not penetrate any walls. Of course, its not like I live in a high crime neighborhood, so I'm hoping the need never arises. And if it does, hopefully the perp isn't strung out on something and is the type who prefers not to stick around when looking at the wrong end of a 12 gauge. with 00bk you have a multitude of pellets all capable of killing at 100 yards while you are moving and your target is moving. i'm not against shotguns. just trying to shed some light on the whole "don't aim, don't penetrate, kills every mother fucker in sight" stuff.

 

I'm fairly surprised that it only had a 3" spread at 12".

I'm actually looking into getting a Yugo SKS, tons of cheap 7.62x39 ammo from the Soviets. Unfortunately Indiana doesn't allow anything less than .357" for deer hunting.
