does anyone know how those pages work, where when registering they ask you to enter the code you see, and the code is in images, instead of numbers, i guess to prevent mass subscriptions or something? i understand how it works, but does anyone know of any applets scripts to do this?

 

It'd hard coded into what's a graphics interface called GD. The programming language that is being used, in our case PHP, calls a random combination of images that GD produces and displays. I don't know the technical facts behind it, but check these links out for more!
