payed == payed off a reel. like if you pull wire off a spool its "payed out." It's not useful, AFAIK, in terms of finacial reference...let me look.

10. Past tense and past participle paid or payed (pd) To let out (a line or cable) by slackening.

no, the term "payed" is only to be used in instances of pulling wire from a spool, never in terms of financial reimbursement. welcome to the wonderful world of English, its a bunch of bullshit.
