I remember this big kid at a WA meet who was goofy as hell but had this oddly cool demeanor about himself, now he has been replaced with a trim former jarhead who has this oddly goofy demeanor :chuckles:

Thanks for your service. No doubt it changed you in ways you never expected. My time in the Navy made me much more mature and even tempered, or that is what everyone says.

As a grunt on your first enlistment that's pretty much impossible. Cross training in this line of work means learning how to do a different job in the infantry. As a rifleman I would train to be a machine gunner or mortar man for instance.
Besides I already had a handful of billets with their own unique responsibilities and 10 different people I had to answer to. At one point in the deployment I had 4 jobs and was in charge of 8 guys and a dog. :crazyr:
