Which car was the first to have VTEC?

The 92+ Civic EX's had them. I want to know about the 1st Honda, USDM and JDM. I think it is confirmed that the first USDM Honda to implement variable valve timing was the Acura NSX.

vtec was first used in some Honda Bike back in the late 70's. The first CAR was the teg and NSX in 91.

I didn't think Honda Bikes had VTEC until recently. Last year or two years ago I believe.

92 preludes didn't have the h22a, not til 93.

DOHC or SOHC it should make no difference because VTEC is VTEC regardless of the number of cams...either it has it or it doesn't:doh:

In Japan, i believe the Civic had it first in 88.
no usdm crx had vtec from factory.

92 civic ex/vx/si were the first usdm honda badged vehicle to have it. the 93 prelude sivtec and the 93 del sol si were next.

90 nsx was the first acura badged vehicle...i don't know much more bout the acura line...
