MS Access
Anyone here use it? i mean for work?
I just applied on a opening that ask me to be proficient in Access (intermediate knowledge of it). I said i was but I'm more of a noob at it. I'll try to take a course in it if ever i get to the interview stage of the job.
But just how complicated is this software? I'm a very fast learner... I don't think I'll have any problems to at least look like i have the necessary skills. But you think a couple of weeks of work would be enough to actually use Access at a intermediate level?

Its not real difficult to get to a midlevel user knowledge but that's about where the learning curve gets steep depending on how you learn. I thought Access was pretty simple until I got to the back end commands :chuckles:

I built a supply database using Access. It took quite some time to figure out how to tie the tables, queries, reports, and user interface forms all together. Quite the learning experience.
I had a lot of fun with it and even built a pretty complex dbase for a couple grand cash...doubt I could do it now since its been a while but it was a lot of fun at the time.
