Default A nice laptop for under $2000?

So yeah, I'm going to college this fall and I need a laptop but I don't know where to begin. Do you guys have any suggestions? Reviews? Thanks a lot.

Do you play games? Do you need a big hard drive for all your pornos and MP3? Do you want a DVD or CDRW? What kind of programs do you run?

Why do you need for? paper? graphic? just messing around? multimedia? IT?
I think around 1200-300 sould get you a really nice one

Don't buy too expensive one. it's waste of money unless you really need it...buy mid-price one.

hahaha you guys should know that I'd be playing games in college and through a LAN so that is a given.

I have a pretty phat desktop PC but I don't know much about Laptops.

My HP Media Center 854n:

P4 1.67Ghz
DVD-RW/CD-RW Combo
32X CD-Rom drive
512 MB DDR Ram
4 in 1 Media Card reader (i don't really use them)
Nvidia GeForce 4 MX440 128MB DDR
Windows XP Pro/Media Center
120GB Hard Drive
Numerous USB ports

I dunno...is there a laptop similar to my desktop?

get a way better desktop (for play) than a lightweight laptop (for work)

i got both for under 2000
my laptop is 600mhz with an external CD drive but its good to haul since its 3.2 lbs, i added a wireless card since VT has a "B" network.

my desktop is 3ghz, 9600 pro, 160gb raid 0, gig ddr400
