Default Home Theater Peeps....Halp

So I've been having an intermittent issue with my home theater setup. The front left tower speaker will sound buzzy/fuzzy like the speaker is blown. It sounds like this in both the tweeter and woofer, which are separate. I originally thought it was just the tweeter, and I've removed and reinstalled it a few times. It goes away for a while, then comes back. It happened again tonight, and I got tired of it. I hooked it up in place of the front right tower, and it sounded fine. Took it back to the left, sounded buzzy and blown. Hooking up the right side speaker to the left wiring makes that speaker sound blown. Is this a blown channel on the receiver? Receiver is Onkyo TX-SR605.

Thanks

Signs are pointing to a bad channel. Probably not...but doesnt hurt...swap speaker wires?

Haven't swapped wires yet...probably gonna try that tomorrow. Too late to do it now...don't feel like it. o:

Edit: was fuzzy after putting speakers back in original place, now all the sudden sounds fine. Tweeter on good side now sounds nonoperational. WTFEEEEEEEEEZY

Sounds like wires to me. Treat it like a car and diagnose from the least expensive to the most expensive scenario.

As with others, I'd say replace the wires first. Cheapest/easiest option.

I had an Onkyo receiver that would constantly overheat and pop some connection inside. Had it fixed by an authorized shop 3 different times and it kept happening. Sounded great (significantly better than the Sony I replaced it with), but I wasn't impressed with the reliability.

Tune the radio station to a channel that comes in better.

So it became buzzy sounding again just now. I pulled the receiver out and swapped the wires for the L & R speakers. This changed which speaker sounded shitty. Looks like a blown channel. Is it worth it to take it somewhere and have it tested/repaired, or just buy a new one?

Do you have multi-channel? Maybe you can just switch it up on the deck and still get what you need.

Turn that shit down!

I never run it super loud mang....neighbors below. Now it sounds ok...thus the intermittent problem. Maybe I will just deal with it until it gets worse. It's a 7.1 receiver, but hooking it up to one of the rears wouldn't produce the correct sound.
