The new PSX.... anyone got any good info on it?

Other than it's the reason Sony lowered the price on the PS2.

 

The new PS2 will have the network adapter built in. It will also have one of those high end outputs built in as well....I can't remember if it's progressive....blah...it's a hookup for the ballas with high end TV's

It's still $199 btw. The ones without these 2 add-ons are sold at $179.

 

it also has the HD installed.

 

I don't think the new PS2 package includes the HD.

 

OK...here's the official release

New PS2 will have:

built in Network Adapter
quieter fan
DVD remote receiver
can read DVD-R formats and has progressive-scan DVD playback.

 

oh sweet.... that mgiht be enough to make me buy one

 

Will it be called PSX? Or like PS/2X or something?

Nope, it'll just be another PS2, but it will have a bit different packaging...details not confirmed yet. It'll definitely have a different model number

 

i saw the package at frys...
the box look kinda the same as the older one...maybe the color is slightly different...
the games advertised in the back of the box are newer games though
