Yeah they been making them for a while. Not bad setups at all as long as you have the power to run them. Low power is worse than overpowering.

home speakers get loud at even 50watts/channel...so you shouldnt need to worry about underpowering..

as for getting some tower speakers..
whats ur budget??
imo...dyi or prebuilt kits are much better than those brand name speakers...

www.madisound.com has some prebuilt that are extremely nice sounding..

if ure like me though...you should try to build it from scratch...they have really nice drivers...<seas...scanspeak...morel..etc>
madisound also offers custom passive xover....so u wouldnt need to worry about calculating the whole thing urself...

you might also wanna try www.adireaudio.com

as for the sub...u gotta try adireaudio
theyre efficient drivers and hit very accurate...unlike those sony/panasonic/polk...etc..

Infinity speakers are decent. I have some of their studio monitor series which they don't make anymore and have been happy with them. My brother uses Infinity Alpha series speakers and they sound pretty good. Just visit stores and listen and see what your ears like best. Some other brands you should check out in the same general class are Polk and JBL. If you want to spend a bit more, look into Klipsch, Paradigm, Boston Acoustics, etc. As for subs, I really like my Velodyne. It's about 4 years old and still sounds great.
