E30dood and I finished converting his car from auto to manual a couple weeks ago. It was an interesting experience to say the least. If it weren't for all the little setbacks, it was actually pretty easy with the right tools!

Since the conversion took up a good portion of my life, I'm going to show it off for E30dood...


E30dood's car on stands. Mods include Bilstein shocks, H&R springs, JC chip, and some minor cosmetic changes.


3 trannies. Auto, manual, manual...

Hey, it's leaking...


Gotta remove it. 3ft of extensions, a universal joint, and torx sockets are your friends.


Gotta use the extension and u-joints just to get the exhaust manifold off in the first place.


Roll the bad tranny away...


Have to get the starter back on.


Hmm... This one's leaking too but at least it works.

Supposedly the automatic differential makes my car jump into the powerband quicker.

 

 

Pretty cool. Those trannies look so shiney and new though.

higher ratio rear diff = poor mans supercharger

 

Thats because one was painted and I washed the other one sorta.
