I've had my profile up for about 2.5-3years and just the other day I got what seemed like a mass email blast about a job with a well known company. I figured it was just a mass email blast and didn't think much of it until the next day. Well I send back a reply and I guess it wasn't a just a mass email they were sending out. A senior recruiter for the company wants to discuss the position with me directly.

I guess it doesn't hurt to chat and see what they have to offer :chuckles: but I'm not really looking to change jobs right now so the offer would end up having to be fantastic one for me to switch jobs.

 

I have one I think...or used to have one. Funny you say this...a friend of mine just got contacted by apple through his linkedin profile.

 

In my field employers dont really search around on looking for people. But, I just updated my resume...so maybe :dunno:

 

First time happening for me. I've heard of people getting jobs through linkedin just never been one to be contacted for a job :chuckles: kind of surprised me.

i have one. never did anything for me and i don't think i've looked at it more than twice since creating it.

 

I have one too and have a fair number of contacts (mostly friends as opposed to legitimate co-workers). I barely ever use it, but when I created the profile a few years ago I figured it couldn't hurt if I ever decided I needed to change jobs.
