who bought an EVO that he can barely afford only cuz he lives with mommy and daddy..blew the transmission on it already! :rofl: He's had it for a few months at the most and fukkin blew the transmission. He's an idiot who didn't know how to drive it...he didn't break the car in before driving it like a maniac h: HAHA and to make matters worse when they were putting it on the tow truck..pushing it up the ramp the guy put a dent in the trunk..:thumbup: poor guy...I feel sorry for him about the trunk..but the transmisison he brought on himself...He's one lucky mo fo though because they said the would fix it for free and consider it under warranty eventhough he didn't break it in properly. h:

my friend blew 1st gear on his WRX with 22,000 miles.....and warranty didn't cover it. wned:

 

are the trannies on those newer cars thaaAT bad??
i can imagine one burning his clutch within a few thousand miles...but tranny? :shrug:

 

tranny's are fine, but awd + 7k launch = bad for tranny, theres no 2 ways about it

 

i cant ever imagine lauching at 7k rpm

 

ive done a 8k launch in my prelude once, its not very dramatic because one you get up that high, all you hear is a clunk when you shift to gear and all it did was sorta rev and move forward slightly. not surprisingly, that car is now sitting in my driveway and not running. its just an old ass 87 lude anyways

 

wouldnt u b burning rubber through 1st and maybe second gear anyway?

i think 4k rpm is high enough for any street racing

 

you would think so, and maybe its different in, say, an integra or something. but my prelude seems to sorta bog out, it had the rpms and it was in gear, but wasn't transfering all that power to the road somehow. i dunno, i could smell clutch when i did it.

 

i guess im more used to my friends d16y8 thats why i think 4k rpm is good enough...
