i dont understand why people say "im saving up for "____"."
why? are you that short on money that you have to save and spend it all on it? like my friend says to me today, "so ya, im saving up for some new tires." which he doesn't need anyways. but hes saving up for it, meaning he doesn't have the money, but when he does get it, he'll spend it all on his tires. i guess this seperates the weak from the strong. personally, id rather save that money in case you lose your job or burn out a clutch or something

i look at it as saving money on top of money. i try to save money and will eventually have enough for _____ but want to have money over that amount just in case. (though i have no money right now h: )

i think you should have money in reserve for certain things like tires, car repairs, and other things that may come up.
i save for moving the heck out of the house or going on vacation.
