my 50" plasma won't turn on :a:

 

What brand and how old is it? I got a samsung plasma that I leave on for 10 hrs a day for the past 3.5 years and it is still running strong. Had a good night sleep yesterday, but still didn't want to wake up this morning. The weekend needs to come faster. :happysad: This heat sucks balls too.

 

it's a samsung.

i called samsung and they gave me a number for a repair place down the road, since it's out of warranty.

 

did you pay with credit card? sometimes credit cards double MFG warranties and sammy's I think is one year.


Samsungs have been noted as having serious problems, I already had one panel die on my LCD

i got it from best buy, 16 months ago or so. i gotta look to see if i go the warranty through them. 99% chance i didn't, i never get them

just looking online a lot of people said i might just need to replace the capacitors. i called samsung and it's out of warranty obviously, but they gave me a number of a place down the road. they'll come out and look at it for $56, $54 of which will go towards the repair. so i don't think it's too bad. i might give it a shot myself.

i think i may have gotten the best buy warranty. brb.

 

it's a miracle. i bought the service plan through best buy, it's covered up through 09/2013.
