Practice your speech in front of mirror, and practice a lot, to the point you can say the whole thing out loud without having to look at any helper stuff. If you know it that well, you should be confident enough to give it just fine.

ah, cause sometimes if its just a bright light on you and the rest of the room is dark... it's like your talking to god.... or nothing.

anytime I'm in that situation.... don't think about it. your not giving a speech. just talking to some people. happens that your behind a podium and they are all facing you... but try not to think of it like a speech.... that's what helps me.

i'll give that a shot ... i know the speech inside and out, so i know what i'm talking about. just making good eye contact and not being distracted by the people who aren't listening will be hard.

When I have been asked to address a large group its scary as hell! For me I agree with what Andy has said. Make sure you know what your going to say inside and out. Alway's stick to what you have wrote and try not to wander. I also heard that those time's when you want to say "ummm" to just be silent and gather your thoughts. Oh and lastly after about 2-3 minutes of being up there you tend to relax a little. Good Luck.
