Yea, i've head good things about Nikon, they're cheap too, but IMO they look as bad as the 90's cell phones. I went with the A300, just what I wanted, and 3.2mp is more than enough considering I will only need at most 5x5 pictures.

If you want really high megapixels for really cheap, Gateway has a 5.1 megapixel digicam for like $249.99. I'm sure there are a few drawbacks to it (like it runs off of AA batteries) but for so cheap its a fairly good deal.

I have the Powershot A40 and it does a good job. Kinda bulky to lug around though. I only wish I waited for a better camera to come out, because I want to try professional photography.

canon has some high end SLR digital cameras.

Last time I checked point-n-shoot didn't mean SLR.

good pictures dont come from good cameras. good pictures come from good photographers. good cameras enhance the good photographer

I took his statement as he wish he didn't buy the A40 and instead waited for a better (SLR) camera.

yes, but a good photographer + shitty camera = shitty picture quality.
