i decided to go jump all the way into google voice, and ported my cell number over. it's way too hard to get people to change numbers, especially if the old one still works.

so now i can control where it rings and when, get voicemails at a computer, and text from my web browser. enjoying it so far.

 

I like some of google's stuff that they come out with. just have to sit down and read up on it and use it.

 

i use it when i give my phone number out en mass or for things like paypal.

 

You can get most of that functionality without porting it over. Are you on Sprint?

 

no, verizon. i realize you can do all that without porting, but it only works if people use your google number to call you. it was impossible to get people to change, so i just had it ported.

 

I mostly use it for voicemail. use the google voice number every now and then when I need to give a number out that I don't want
