Sorry, just have to post some Full Metal Jacket quotes:

You are pukes. You are the lowest form of life on Earth. You are not even human ****ing beings. You are nothing more than unorganized grabastic pieces of amphibian shit.

Drill Instructor: How tall are you private?
Cowboy: Sir! Five foot nine, sir!
Drill Instructor: Five foot nine? I didn't know they stacked shit that high! You tryin' to squeeze an inch in on me somewhere, huh?
Cowboy: Sir! No Sir!
Drill Instructor: Bullshit. It looks to me like the best part of you ran down the crack of your momma's ass and ended up as a brown stain on the mattress! I think you been cheated! Where in the hell are you from anyway, private?
Cowboy: Sir! Texas, Sir!
Drill Instructor: Holy dog shit! Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas, Private Cowboy. And you don't look much like a steer to me so that kinda narrows it down. Do you suck dicks?
Cowboy: Sir! No Sir!
Drill Instructor: Are you a peter puffer?
Cowboy: Sir! No Sir!
Drill Instructor: I'll bet you're the kinda guy that would **** a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around. I'll be watching you.

Thanks... :happysad:

I got a USMC high & tight on Friday (shaved sides) and it's grown back to a #2 and it's only Sunday... I think I'll be visiting the barber shop every week at bootcamp to keep in regs, lol

I hope I can keep a low profile, but if they look at my paperwork they'll see E-3/E-4 NUKE and prolly try to put me in some position that I'll either do great or fall on my face.

From what I hear it isn't too bad, just a head game... hopefully I'll be distracted enough not to miss my gf... I'll be sending her a letter ASAP, so I'll have some companionship while I'm gone...

nah. they didn't do that to me and was a nuke. they put a wannabe pilot in the lead spot. i was the flag carrier because i was tall and that was a good job.

it all depends on what you want to do. if you want to have a job, be loud. if you don't want to do anything but what you have, just don't say anything. the hardest part for me was running (since i suck at the running). other than that, it was pretty easy.

8:57 1.5 mile > * out of my office... , so running shouldn't be a problem...

I'll just try my best to be quiet & not associate myself with anyone... for the first time in a few years I'll be a loner...

oh yeah, and learn how to shine shoes really well. i did it for other people (ironed shirts too) and got money out of it. one of the (eh, i forget what they were called) ... he was a BM1... made me iron a whole bunch of peoples shirts because we had an inspection and i did it better than other people. you don't in as much trouble if you have a good skill.

and about associating with people. i'd find the other people that like to stay quiet. i made a couple friends in there, but we were all quiet people.

also, if you have other nukes in the division with you, i'd get in good with them too. you'll probably be seeing alot of each other since you'll most likely be in the same classes once you get to sc too.

2.5 years of NJROTC and 5 Exemplerary (sp?) Personal Appearance Awards show that I do something right with my uniform, lol... and I can iron too, I had to do my dad's uniforms when my mom was working, so I HOPEFULLY will do alright there.

Any other useful last-minute tips?
