pocket doors are good for some uses.. if the right ones are installed and the space is there then I think they are good for people with dogs/small children etc. Especially when it comes to the kitchen and whatnot, some people enjoy cooking greasy food from time to time and might want to close the door to prevent the house from becoming a mcdonalds.

 

good thing about a pocket door...

if you don't close it, you won't even know you have it.

 

or just buy a venting hood for your range :thinking: I never understood microwave hoods or other recirculating types :dunno:

 

i have a microwave hood, it doesn't do shit.
