The M3 has 333 hp, the C32 AMG has 349. Close enough. The shift programming on the C32 is such that in a straight line it keeps up just fine.
The M5 has 394 hp, the E55 AMG has "469" conservatively-rated hp. No contest.
I hate to magazine race, but...

0-60 mph 4.3 sec
1/4 12.5 @ 116 mph
BMW M5
0-60 mph 4.9 sec
1/4 mile 13.4 @ 108 mph

OK the new E55 is pretty sweet...but the previous gen was closer to the M5. I bet the next M5 is closer to 500hp to outdo the current E55. I know you know what Brabus is...thought you might have missed it in the video.

Keep in mind the W211 E55 is brand new. When compared to the older W210 E55 the M5 wins hands down.

amg's are sick but in my novice opinion i would still take a m3 over a amg in the same price range.
bimmer! anyone seen the M3 CSL? 22 more horses, less wieght, smg drivetrain.... and not availble in the u.s.. =(
