i design websites and have a colocated server. its very reliable and fast, and me or the server admin are always very easy to get in contact with if you ever have any questions. i usually charge $120 a year plus $20 for a domain name registration, but ill offer it for $100 a year including a domain name registration for h-a members.. you'll get 150 megs of space, but realisticly most people wont even use more then 20 megs. it supports php, perl, mysql, etc. its a unix based server. if you guys are interested shoot me an email or send me an IM on aol, my email address is drdavidge@aol.com and my screen name on aol/aim is drdavidge. take care, peace.

i wanna buy myself a domain but haven't taken a class, just learned from friends etc...

fuji does my webhosting. i knew nothing about creating a web page...but i have the real real basics down. http://ownerages.com

i have it just to learn rather than to have an actual site, so theres a bunch of crap on there.

the thing that helped me most was the support from fuji, he taught me most of what i know know about it.

Just because I'm curious. Why would you use AOL if you're smart enough to set up and run a webserver? I mean, from a technical standpoint they suck, and from a business practice standpoint, they suck...

i find there are a lot of people that run their own businesses and use aol accounts as their primary contacts. i also find i will never be doing business with these sort of people ever again. (see my thread about Mike Prell / Route 62 Creations to fill in the blanks)

That was partly why I asked.
