I'm going to Cali this summer with my friend who's 22 and I'm 23
i wanted to know do you have to be 25 to rent a car or is it 23 or what age is it

u don't have to be, like your boy said, find some sleezy rental place. i'm renting a car in vegas at some place i forgot and i'm 23, it's a big chain too.

 

some places allow you to be 21...but they have certain requirements like you must buy their insurance and pay like $10-20 more a day.

 

Last summer when I was 22 I rented from Enterprise, a major chain... because I was referred through my insurance, State Farm. I had the car for a long weekend with no issues or uptightness on their part at all - and I took it out of state. I didn't have to purchase their optional insurance either; said "to hell with that!" and just took off for Jim Thorpe, PA to a friend's wedding. It was a crappy Stratus, auto, weaksauce.

 

Most major chains just charge you an under 25 surcharge. You shouldn't have any problem getting a car. I wouldn't go to a sleazy place.

we rented a toyota something, i forgot what the hell it was, but we took the air filter out and went street racing in san diego , h:

 

i rented a minivan from enterprise when i was 21. i just had to pay some extra fees h:

 

any of these places rent cars with manual transmissions?
