I'm registering in 2 hours for my fall term classes, and one of the classes I'm thinking of taking is offered online and I think I'm gonna take it.

What are your experiences with it?

 

I was pondering the same thing. till a few other students said it can be a pain in the arse. It makes it to easy to put doing the work off and such.

 

web classes BLOW. if you're really dedicated and can study easily from home, then go for it. the course i had to take involved checking out videos and watching some cable access crap every week. worst class i've ever taken.

 

I had a really crap experience this spring with a web based ENGL 151 class....2nd year College English Composition, focused on argumentative essays and such.

I wound up dropping it because the professor posted assignments at random, and also because I personally perform and learn better by being in the classroom...

My experience was basically one of technology getting ahead of the curriculum. The course simply isn't suited for distance learning IMO.

OTOH, other kinds of material may lend itself to a web format. :dunno: .. but being an old dog when it comes to learning, I'm much more reticent to try web courses again...
