Default Sony Vaio Trouble

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-F360 that was given to me about 4 months ago. It worked great until now. Every time i turn it on it works for a small amount of time and then just shuts off. Then i turn it off and turn it back on. And then again it just turns off. This goes on for as long as u can stand it. This gets really annoying when trying to do work. I haven't been able to work on the laptop for the past 2 weeks because of this problem. If just turns off about 5 minutes of less when i turn it on. I tried to clean the registry, update Windows 98 (the program it runs now), and even take the battery out and just run it through the AC adaptor. So does anyone know what the problem is and how i could go about fixing it??

Bad motherboard. Common problem.

Here's the workaround.
