Found a black widow in my garage the other day. Those things are hard to kill, had to practically drown it in Raid. Once it stopped moving, I treated it to a dose of the propane torch and turned it into a burnt cinder, just to make sure. In the unlikely event it survived both the chemical warfare and the fire, it wasn't going anywhere because all its legs were completely burned off.

 

At my old house, my room was in the basement and a black widow came in through the window right above my bed. I was laying in bed and looked up and it was lowering itself down off my head board towards my face. I grabbed 2 books and clapped that fucker in mid air. I'm not afraid of spiders and I generally leave them be, but if I know it's poisonous, no mercy :chuckles:

 

that thing would have gotten the hairspray with lighter treatment

 

I'm thinking deer slug or at least a couple rounds of bird shot for that H.R. Giger-esque monstrosity Drew posted... :eek4:

This is what I laid to rest last august, via said WD-40 and lighter. Right outside my apartment. My arm was within 6" of it when I initially opened the door.
