Well, I was paying off a ticket at the Fairfax County Judicial Center yesterday when I realized that I had already fought through an hour and a half of rush-hour traffic to get that far north and I might as well pay my favorite gun shop in Alexandria a visit. About an hour later, I walked out with this:

It's a Saiga .223 (5.56x45mm), a bastardized civilian version of the AK-101, using the classic Kalashnikov action. A picture of the real AK-101 is availible here: http://kalashnikov.guns.ru/models/ka122.html

I have big plans for this rifle, including a Weiger magazine conversion and eventually a full AK-101 conversion. This rifle compliments my other AK (visible in my avatar), all I need now is a 7.62x39 model, as I have a 5.45mm and a 5.56mm already

CDNN lists the .223 like I just bought for $199, dealer cost. Add to that transfer fees and dealer mark-up, it will end up around $250-$350.
