I recently got these. Very light and grips like a mother...of course these, like anything else with pins, can rip you legs open i got a pretty nice scar when i was walking my bike and these dug into the back of my cavs

+1 on no need for full suspension. Hardtail should be more than enough for ya

I need new tires for my cannondale, anyone have any thoughts on a good set of reasonably priced tires?

needed info

height/weight?
light on equipment or hard?
biking experience, road/mtb/etc...?
kind of trails you will ride locally?
whats your mindset, hurt myself/hurt the bike/hurt my legs/hurt my lungs?
price?
used/new?

some basic info i will toss out there
not all full suspension is created equal, there are dh race, dh jump, super d, trail, freestyle, xc, xcrace, etc...
all with different geometry and ride qualities vary drastically
same goes for hardtail bikes, you have racey xc bikes, dirtjump, 29ers in different forms, ss, and the occasional fat tire bike

post up a youtube vid of what you expect out of yourself to ride, just search the local trail names and shit will come up, for example here are my local trails
the perfect spot for my racey 29er ht (kona king kahuna)

but here is whats under an hour away...

i cant do that shit...until i have a bike for it

I've been looking around other brands websites for hardtails and this is getting mad confusing :loco:

So many different combinations of components and shit. I've got a lot of research to do. :hs: Good thing I'm not in a rush.

I'm 6'5'' but I'm skinny I weigh around 180.
I wouldn't say I'm hard on equipment but I'm definitely gonna squeeze the potential out of it.
I was riding road only last year, long hill climbs and bike paths. Used to do a lot of trails when I was a teenager with shitty department store bikes.
I want to go out there and ride some cross country trails, climb some hills and navigate through tougher terrain If I have to.**My mindset is getting a great leg workout while getting a bit of adrenaline pumping.

Here's some local trails I'd see myself riding:
There is a network of over 90kms of trails in the park so I'm sure the terrain can vary quite a bit.

There's also the local ski hill which has some expert downhill stuff but I don't see myself riding that type of terrain anytime soon.

this is a dumb question, but i'm confusing myself.

Amazon.com: Sunlite Pedal Extenders - 9/16" Pedal, 1/2" Crank, 19.5mm: Sports & Outdoors Amazon.com: Sunlite Pedal Extenders - 9/16" Pedal, 1/2" Crank, 19.5mm: Sports & Outdoors

the threaded part going into the crank would be 1/2" and where i would put the pedals would be 9/16"'s? right?

i need the opposite. the pedals i have 1/2", the crank is 9/16"'s h:

If I'm reading it correctly, the cheap pedals are 1/2" so the adapter should work for you. I think I've seen these at Walmart as well.

My bike came with a similar version of the Wellgo pedals mentions earlier. The studs grip really well but eat shoes for breakfast.
