Stupid freaking big name computer companies
So since I have nothing to do over summer I decided to do what I usually love doing... no not pimping... but fixing computers. My first client has a Compaq Presario with a Celeron... thats pretty much his first problem. So I do an fdisk, format and install the new hd... damn thing won't recognise the PCI cards anymore. Go to Compaq.com... nada the damn drivers they have won't work either.
Dammit if this dude tells me he ain't paying me I'll be pissed!!!
Anyone got a clue where I can find the drivers, all he has is a NIC and a modem and both are generic Compaq stamped ones. I have half the mind to call Compaq and tell them they suck.

I'm gonna try some driver sites, this guy gave me his whole folder of computer related junk. I swear how do these companies make money, it had no drivers in the Recovery CD which is pretty dumb for a big name company.
Oh well I told the guy that he either needs to see if he still has any other cds or not, he tells me he'll call Compaq... so I told him I could charge him half the price and give him a NIC and a modem.
I better get paid!!!

HP== Compaq now, and they sure fawked up their website. support and finding information is a fawking nightmare now. plus theyve changed names of some of their products to like the Hp Ipaq and crazy shit like that.

the recovery disk will have the drivers for anything that was installed.
trying to get the drivers out is the nightmare part.
what model compaq is the system? and do we get a cut when we figure it out? :chuckles: j/k
