well in my new honda tuning mag this guy had this "air dam" and it looks pretty sweet...but what the hell does it do? looks like a lip to me... heres some pics from the web site...and the scanned pic from the mag

I think the big lip just creates more downforce over the front wheels for better grip. Just like a big wing on a RWD does.

It is intended to prevent air from going under the car and creating lift. Not to make downforce.

If you run one of those particular air dams on a street car, you will rip it off pretty quickly.

im pretty sure "front air dam" "lip" "body kit" are semi-interchangable terms.

Air Dam is the holes in the bumper, Lip is the thing that attaches to the bottom, and body kit is just replacement body panels.
