Thats what I normaly do, but when reading instructions, for something or when working with other people they just say "the right side" or "the left side"



Example:

Remove the battery tray if you already have not, and bolt the right-hand bracket to the frame rail using the four bolts provided. For the bolt under the frame rail, reuse one of the original mount bolts. You can actually reinstall the battery bracket by cutting of one of the mounting tabs on the bottom where it interferes with the bracket.

and at the tire shop I work at one guy told me to remove the rear right tire, and pointed to the rear driver side. so I started taking it off and the car owner said it was the other tire.

like I said, when I am talking abou tit I always say pass or driver side
