I think that Nissan started to slip around '97, and they went into the hole shortly after. They're attempting to make a comeback but its too little too soon.

And yes, thier build quality has went down. Infinity's build quality is still as high as ever though.

Their passenger cars get the job done, but still arent on par with toyota. The high end cars [infiniti] are pretty good all around, as far as build quality, value, performance, looks.

Nissan's sports cars are a whole other story. The Spec v's are crap. The QR burns oil, the transmission has leaks and gear problems, and the interior is dismal to say the least. The 350zx is better, but as stated above, could have a not-so-cheap interior and could lose the chrome door handles:barf:. The infinity 35 is a good car, but leans more to the luxury arena.

honda and toyota aren't in any kind of hole so they don't need any 'radical' new direction

It was the result of another thread in the News & Rumors forum.

I'm pretty sure he was an IP match for someone else who had already been banned.

Honda is putting K-series engines in many of their new cars. To me it seems like it would be better to have fewer similar engines than many very different engines, keeps parts cost down and easier for people to work on.

good point.

however, they are losing customers (like me), who want japanese cars with more flair.
