you wont be able to stand up straight until you get good. standing straight up dont give you a lot of balance. youre going to be croutched over and waving your arms. :exnbp:

when attempting the triple lutz, be sure to tuck your inner portion of the skate, you'll beable to combo due to the amount of grip achieved.

Don't worry about your ankle.... worry more about something that has a further way of falling.... ie your arms, shoulder, head.

Don't fall. I did. I'll never ice skate again. Broke my right collar bone. ouch!

honestly though ... just like snowboarding, you're going to fall. just try to brace yourself with your hands and fall forwards. falling on your butt isn't fun at all.

the good thing about ice skating is that if you fall and hurt yourself, you can start icing the injury right away

OMG! I hope you're OK?!

I don't plan on doing super fancy cool stuff, I was suppose to go Ice skating in Pensacola about 4 years ago, but before i could even get on the ice my friend in front of me got out there, fell on his face, broke his nose and we had to rush him to the hospital.

I'm going first this time

Just have a good time! In all seriousness, don't psyche (sorry about spelling) youself out. It isn't that bad. You will have a good time and after a few times around the rink (assuming reasonable athletic ability and balance) you will be surprised at how good you are. Granted, you will not be able to do tricks or hockey stops or anything like that, but your comfort level will increase quickly.
