job question
alrighty, i work as an emt, studying to be a paramedic 3 nights a week and every other weekend. i currently have availability for 18 of 21 shifts per week, and had been doing pretty well until recently. i now range from 2-4 shifts, sometimes 5 (shifts are 8 hours), but its been on the low end of that lately. shifts work based on availability and seniority.. sucks, but it is what it is.
i live at home while going to school, so i dont have rent, but i do have things such as truck payment/insurance, and cell, and i make $9.75/hr (medics make $16.05).
i went on a ride day at my buddies job (aramark) where he is the warehouse manager, and he's been working at getting me in as a route driver. they recently added a new route and are looking for someone to fill. i feel my ride day went extremely well and seemed to hit it off with everyone, and i can meet their expectations easily. only thing is, ill have to play emt on the weekends and on some weeknights depending on the schedule. the good thing is, we have a lot of down time at work, so i can utilize that to study for class no problem.
so, i guess what im asking is should i give it a shot? the route minimum is $700/week and id be looking at working from 530a to about 130p-ish m-f. this is a substantially more amount of cash than i would get even working full time as an emt, and about the same for when i become a medic.
i cant find a reason to not take the job (myself and my buddy will be shocked if i am not offered the position).. input?

the worst thing l personally encounter as a delivery driver is that my days can be unpredictable ie. my truck breaks down, traffic, weather, order errors, loading errors, c.o.d. problems, spikes in sales volume, etc... other than that, i like my job as a driver
