Default New Laptop, Antivirus

Just got a new laptop this morning. My old one took a shit yesterday.

Got this one. http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/4730...cam-win-7-prem

Very happy with it, as i was out the door with it for $350, and it's a dual core with Win 7 64 bit.

Until I (retardedly) decided to activate the Norton "60 day free trial". I knew better, but did it anyway.

Immediately my browser ceased to work almost at all, untill i disabled the "web security" option, then it worked perfectly.

Searched for "norton fucked up my internet" and the first result was this.
"

This was your security before Norton got its boot on. One guy in a booth lazily eyeballing passers by.. unless you were strapped to the nines with plastic explosive with an "I Love Al Qaeda" T Shirt on, he's not getting involved, and even then he'd probably decide against intervening..

Now, Norton isn't taking any shit. It's erected a 1939 German prison camp around your laptop and inside, your data and internet traffic are Jewish. Even if you tell Norton to take its guard down, after 15 minutes it shouts a very loud "NEIN! WIR MUSSEN DIE JUDEN AUS ROTTEN!!" then set your machine back to it's data hating status.

Looking to the future, it would seem they have a new product lineup called Norton Internet Compliance Officer

I of course jest... this is actually just called Norton 360...
Anyway, got rid of that shit, and now I have a functional new computer.

It's a good deal if you can find one, the only complaint i have is that the buttons on the touchpad are a bit stiff, but no big deal.

I got the last one at my local store this morning, and i woke up at 8AM to make sure i got one.

Here's a better page of the specs. Note the price on newegg...
