Essay for class
I have to do a short essay on the eastern and western front of WWI. Just tell me what you guys think of my rough-draft. Its kinda long.
World War I Essay
In World War I, the western front and eastern front shared there similarities yet had there differences. The western front was located in northern France. The Eastern front was located along the German and Russian border. Both were very active but it seems that the Eastern front was more active then the Western front.
On the western front there was more artillery available to the soldiers. Transportation was available by taxi-cabs when reinforcement soldiers were needed. On the western front they utilized trench warfare. It was cold, muddy, and was described as miserable by the soldiers.
On the eastern front there were barely any supplies for the soldiers. The eastern front had their advantage in that they were a more mobile unit. Unfortunately the Russian sea-ports but were unable to use them because the sea was blocked on both the north and south therefore Russian allies were unable to ship supplies for the soldiers.
Despite the differences between the western front and eastern front, they both had there similarities. Both fronts had horrible weather. The western front was dealing with mud and rain. The Eastern front was dealing with snow and very cold weather. . They both were using destructive combat weapons such as guns, tanks, and airplanes.
As mentioned above, World War I was a complex battle where both the western and eastern front shared their differences and had their similarities. However in the end caused massive destruction, injuries, and death.
