Default Need advice for window-mounted AC unit

Hey guys,

So things are starting to heat up around here and my window fan just isn't cutting it. Any of you have recommendations for a window-mounted AC unit? I'm willing to spend up to $300, although I know there should be a few quality products well under that price. Thanks...

Shingo

ps. This will be used to cool a larger-than-average sized college dorm room housing 1-3 people.

Two years ago someone tried sticking a portable AC unit in the hallway to cool things down...that thing was garbage. Spewed water all over the place, and produced more heat than cooled. My previous AC was an $80 BTU unit; it just crapped out way too soon on me.

Does bestbuy list their AC units on that site? I couldn't seem to find the appropriate department. Of course I could be just a moron of a college student.
