anybody use a program/app like this? i've been using Texdro for a little while now and love it.

basically, a program runs on your desktop and works like an im program using your phone. texts go directly to the program, and you can respond through that window without having to touch your phone at all.

i use it via bluetooth, i had to pay a couple of bucks, but i use it so much it was worth it.

there are other apps like this, just wondering if anyone else uses one.

pdanet lets you do this. i tried it for a little while. but thats when your phone is plugged in through a cord to computer

I htink my HTC desire Z has a way for me to forward txt to my pc even if i dont have my phone. I can also lock the phone, locate it and wipe memorie in case i lose it. Not sure how effective that service is though.

i had used pdanet for a little for the tethering, but now i use barnacle.

i like it. it didn't work the first time i tried it, but i don't think i rooted properly. i redid it and didn't have a problem. i use the widget to flip barnacle on, and then can connect my ipad to me phone, and it works great. definitely recommended if you need a free wifi hotspot, and are rooted.

they have pretty cheap dongles for that.
