How much is an average sized engagement ring cost?

For you guys on here that are engaged or married how much did you spend? My best friend spent a fortune on his. I was like damn I better start saving now, lol.

planning on keeping it under a k for the setting, i already have the rock. ****ers want you to spend "2 mos salary" but thats such bs its unbeleivable.

anymore than a grand and youre a sucker.

I spent about $3000-$5000....the ring retails for $5000 hehehehe...That's what happens when you know people

I bout a J quality (very clear rock) .4 carat for $900

Im actually selling it and have pics if your interested. Its a princess cut and its set. PM Me...Im trying to get rid of it and I'd give a fellow han'r one hell of a deal

they say 2 months salary.. which is kinda scary if i do have to go through with that.. :happysad:

my gf likes to put rings together every so often, to get an idea of what she wants.. this is her latest base:


i like it.

definitely will be platinum with a princess cut, and maybe diamonds down the side, like that one. it's going to cost me.. :-/

i would look for some deals..places have 50% off some times..ive found alot of nice rings for $1500 +/-

Its all relative, my suggestion is decide on how much you want to spend total and then stick to that. I ended up spending $800.00 for a .33 carot diamond for my wife. Good luck though.

Thanks man that is a nice ring. I'm not in the market for one, infact I have just been with my girl for a few months. I am just wondering how much I should be saving. My best friend laid out almost $10,000. Thats a bit steep for me, even though my two months salery is getting to be in that ball park.
