and i think its pretty cool that Apple merged the iPod versions together so that its now both PC/Mac compatible. USB 2.0 connection available this June :thumbup: but id still rather use Firewire h:

 

well.. you can use firewire for the PCs. its just that most PCs dont have firewire, thats why they're offering the USB 2.0 connection, and thats just a cable, not the unit itself. so if you want a PC firewire iPod, you can go get one now!!! :thumbup:

 

i know...i sell mac stuff at work. the PC's use IEEE1394. i just bought a pci card for my pc at home. and USB2.0 cables are already out... Apple just has to put up the drivers for the USB2.0 on the iPod on their website and itll be a free download. until then, the USB 2.0 speed wont work. but yeah, id still rather user Firewire/1394 instead of USB 2.0 h:

but firewire is definitley the way to go.

 

Eddie why do you prefer 1394 over USB2.0? USB2.0 is faster at 480mb/s. 1394 is still 400mb/s. I know the newest MACs support 1394b or 800mb/s. But still it's way over kill.

As for the iPOD. I never really liked the one one. But this new one rocks!

I really like it and I'm not just saying that. I like it enough to buy it! The backlighting, and the solidstate controls instead of push button are all great. The only problem I potentially see is the battery life, which is shorter than the older one but still pretty good at 8hrs.

I don't really care about the other features, such as calender and games but I might use it in place of my Palm V.
