Default Is it unwise to modify a new car before breaking it in?

Friend is picking up a new 03' s2 tomorrow. He has a garage of new parts (never installed) from his old 01' s2 and wants to put them on right away.

Intake, header, exhaust, ecu, vtec controller, temp controller, coilovers, flywheel...etc....basically every single naturally aspirated bolt-on possible for the s2.

Is it a bad idea to install it before 1000km (600miles) break-in?

I would wait til the break in is over. He's gonna be itching to open that thing up with all those mods.

I'd go ahead a put the suspension on first. Wait a while for the rest.

I don't know, even with that suspension on there he's probably going to want to push the car.

The engine will never be the same, you have to break it in.

Just put it up on a jack and let it idle in first gear for 600 miles on the odo.

Don't just let it idle, you need 600 miles of stop and go driving so the rings seal properly.

actually, with the technology, and the exacting tolerances put into building these engines today, the rings are almost fully seated within 100 miles.
