Default MS3 Owners...

I know there's a few of you out there. Im currently looking at purchasing a 07-08 model. Is there anything I should be looking out for when searching? Is there any reason I should skip the 3 and buy the 6? Ive been tons of research, but want to hear some opinions from actual owners. Thanks!

I'd be driving that over the fit, if the speed3 could get 30+ mpg on the reg.

Shit son, I drive 800 miles one way at least ten times a year. I used to get 28 in my redline, and in my fit I get 37 going 85mph.

It saves me $40 each way. Adds up.

my 07 has 55k miles already and still rolling strong. I would look for after market products (could mean more wear and tear on the car cause they are driving ti hard), I would look at the previous owner (young, old, etc...). Try to find a GT model. Leather, LED's, HID's, bose stereo. Those should be comparable to the base sport model.

You will undoubtedly have chips in the paint...the paint is not that great. I have multiple chips due to that...shit, my car got egged and that caused many paint chips from the shell.

I don't have any other issues...transmissions and clutch still running great, suspension is awesome, everything still functions. When you take it for a test drive keep away from the turbo and if you find a hill and are going around 45-50 in 5th or 6th gear, floor it and see how the turbo reacts...mine sometimes rattles but comes right back on...hard and STRONG!

I haven't had any issues with my MS3 but it's an '09. Still a first gen but by then they had worked out a lot of issues that people were having. I know smoking turbos were an issue for the '07's especially but I imagine most people got that taken care of under warranty. And yes the paint sucks. I already have a lot of chips and scratches but it probably doesn't help that my car is black either. And the fuel economy leaves something to be desired. I get about 22 mpg on avg but my best tank ever was only 26 mpg...on premium of course. :happysad:

Overall I've been really happy with my car but those are just some things to consider.
